THE  WRITE  WHALE
To submit your manuscript to a publisher, your work must be
impeccable,
free of any errors in spelling, punctuation, or
grammar. And there must be no blunders such as the protag
onist
hearing a whisper during a deafening blast.

As much as you can check these yourself, it's always advisable
to have a professional do it for you. Yes, the publisher will have
an editor check your work, but if there are more than a handful of
errors, they won't contract your work.

Every error costs the publisher time and money. The more
errors they find, the more work they have to do to fix your
manuscript, and the less likely they are to contract your work.
